Ransomware - Introduction and protection

Introduction

Ransomware is the term used to describe software that is secretly installed on your computer with the intention of encrypting and hiding personal documents, and demanding money to have them restored.

There is generally a steady increase in ransomware, and several cases have recently been reported in the news.

Protection

No specific ransomware protection is available, so the same rules should be applied as are to spyware.
